At the end of May, Auxergo attended a webinar about musculoskeletal (MSD) risk management and MSD tools. MSD risk management is a vital part of human factors, not only for employee’ safety during physical strenuous activities, but also for the employers and safety representatives responsibly for assessing risk. This is especially true for large medical equipment, where the MSD risks for transporters, installers, maintenance staff, and nurses or carers (especially for ICU nurses, and dentists) often need to be considered during usability testing. The MSD assessment tool combines the popular MSD assessment guides, namely, manual handling assessment charts (MAC), assessment of repetitive tasks of the upper limbs (ART) and risk assessment of pushing and pulling (RAPP) and can transformed them into an all-in-one digital solution.
